(Noun; Morality) Ethics: A set of rules that only apply when it's convenient for you to follow them.

Usage

"Ethics" is just a fancy way of saying 'do what I say and not what I do.'

Origin

The word ethics was invented by two friends who were arguing over whether or not they should share their last piece of cake with each other – so they decided to make up a rule instead!
